Blair in Kenya Matching Gift Campaign 2024

Double Your Impact for Kenya’s Children

We are excited to share incredible news.

Thanks to generous friends of Blair in Kenya, every new donation received before December 31, 2024, will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to a total of $40,000.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to expand hope and opportunity for children at our two partner schools in rural Kenya.

That means your impact goes twice as far.

If you sponsor a child through our Sponsor a Child Program, your $200 sponsorship can now support two children for a full year of education, meals, and essential school supplies.

And if sponsorship isn’t the right fit, any donation can help fund one of the urgent school improvement projects below.

Even if you are not in a position to give right now, you can still make a difference by sharing this opportunity with friends, family, and your community.

Support the Match. Change a Life.

Current Projects at Blair Educational Centre

Learn more about Blair Educational Centre and how these projects are improving education and health outcomes.

Flush Toilets for Student Health

We are nearing completion on a major sanitation improvement project: flush toilets in the main classroom building.

This project includes:

  • A metal water tower and storage tank

  • A water pump system

  • Tiling and finishing six bathroom stalls

  • Installation of a septic field

Improved sanitation means healthier students, better hygiene, and improved attendance.

Clarke-Hutchinson Dining Hall Completion

Our new dining hall is nearing completion, but several important finishing steps remain:

  • Floor tiling

  • Tables and chairs

  • Wall plastering and painting

  • Cooking stoves and kitchen equipment

This space will serve as more than a dining hall—it will become a gathering place for both the school and the wider community.

Cooking with gas instead of firewood will also reduce costs and protect the environment.

New Classroom Block

Construction has begun on a major new classroom building designed to match the current academic block.

This expansion will create more classroom space and improve learning conditions for growing student enrollment.

If we can raise an additional $15,000, we also plan to install:

  • Starlink internet access

  • A new computer center

  • Expanded digital literacy programs

This investment will help bridge the digital divide for rural students.

Progress at Blair-Serem Academy

At Blair-Serem Academy, construction continues on the top floor of the main classroom building.

With continued fundraising support, this project will move closer to completion and expand educational opportunities for students.

Future long-term projects include:

  • Flush toilet facilities

  • A new dining hall

These improvements will strengthen both student health and school infrastructure.

Other Blair in Kenya Updates

We are grateful for the many ways our community continues to support this mission.

  • Jane Ferry will speak at Blair Academy on December 10 about bringing medical care to Kenya.

  • Kelvin Serem will visit Blair in late April to share updates from the school.

  • Sixteen Blair students will return to Kenya in March to continue strengthening relationships and supporting both schools.

Thank You for Making This Possible

Because of your generosity, more than 1,200 students now have access to education, daily meals, and growing healthcare support.

That is real change.

That is real opportunity.

And right now, every gift has double the power to help.

Whether you choose to Sponsor a Child, support our school building projects, or strengthen our medical clinic initiatives, your gift creates lasting impact.

Thank you for being part of this story.

Together, we are building brighter futures.
