Meet the Children
Because many of the students in these communities couldn’t afford school, we created a student sponsorship program. For $200 a year, a generous donor could pay for tuition, buy books and a school uniform, and provide a healthy daily lunch. It’s great value - less than $1 for every school day - but, more than that, it gives children who have nothing an opportunity to change the direction of their lives. The student sponsorship program is the foundation of our work, and we currently sponsor over 300 students, but we are always looking for additional donors.
Stay tuned for more children to sponsor!
Meet Brighton Omondi Onyango
Today, we are proud to introduce Brighton Omondi Onyango, known to friends and teachers as “Olago.” Brighton is 12 years old, currently in Year 6, and has been supported through sponsorship for the past seven years.
Brighton comes from a large and vibrant family. He lives with both of his parents, along with his five brothers and two sisters. Their home also includes two additional girls, making a household of eleven. It is a busy home—full of energy, responsibility, and shared support. While providing for a family of this size can be challenging, it is also a place filled with care, connection, and resilience.
At school, Brighton is best known for his love of basketball. He plays regularly and represents the school with pride, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every game.
When he’s not on the court, Brighton takes on a different kind of responsibility at home—he cares for four rabbits, a hobby he enjoys and takes seriously.
In the classroom, Brighton’s favorite subject is Social Studies. He enjoys learning about the world, understanding how people live, and exploring how communities work together. His curiosity and engagement in class reflect a student who is eager to learn and grow.
