Changing Lives Through Education, Sports, and Sponsorship
This past week, Blair Educational Centre hosted a county-wide basketball tournament, bringing together 28 teams from across the region.
It was an incredible event—full of energy, teamwork, and community pride.
And to make it even more exciting, the Blair girls’ team won their division. Video of the Tournament
For many of these students, athletics are about much more than competition. Sports teach discipline, teamwork, confidence, and resilience—skills that carry into every area of life.
We are deeply grateful to the generous donors who made these courts—and this tournament—possible.
A Letter of Gratitude
Above is a photo of runners from Blair Educational Centre. Among them is Vallary Akinyi, whose recent letter reminds us why sponsorship matters.
In her letter, Vallary thanked Blair in Kenya and her sponsor for supporting her education during her primary school years. She shared how that support eased the burden on her family and gave her the opportunity to stay in school, grow, and dream bigger.
But what stood out most was not the financial help—it was the encouragement.
The teachers who believed in her.
The mentorship that shaped her.
And the knowledge that someone cared about her future.
Vallary wrote that those years gave her a strong foundation that continues to guide her today.
That is the power of sponsorship.
It is more than tuition.
It is hope.
It is opportunity.
It is telling a child: you matter, and your future matters.
Victor’s Story: A Sponsored Child Returns
Victor’s Story: The Lasting Impact of Sponsorship
One of the most moving moments this year came when Victor Omondi, one of our original sponsored children, returned to thank the person who helped change the course of his life.
Victor is now 27 years old.
Standing beside Quint Clarke, Victor reflected on what sponsorship meant to him—not simply financial support, but something far deeper.
Like many of our sponsored students today, Victor’s educational journey was made possible because someone believed in him.
That belief matters.
It removes burdens from families, creates a sense of belonging, and gives students the confidence to dream bigger.
It provides opportunity.
It creates purpose.
It builds ambition.
Victor’s story is proof of that.
Years ago, sponsorship gave him access to education, mentorship, and encouragement that shaped his future. Victor benefited not only from the classroom, but from the environment around it—the teachers who encouraged him, the community that supported him, and the opportunities that helped shape his character and goals.
Returning now as an adult, Victor reminded us that the impact of sponsorship does not end when a child finishes school.
It continues.
It shapes the person they become.
And it often inspires them to come back and say thank you.
Victor’s return was a full-circle moment—a powerful reminder that when you invest in a child, you are not just supporting education for today.
You are helping build a future.
A future rooted in confidence, opportunity, and hope.
That is the power of sponsorship.
That is the lasting legacy of believing in a child.

Growing Impact: Nearly 1,600 Students Supported
Today, Blair in Kenya supports nearly 1,600 students across our two schools.
Of those students, more than 300 are sponsored.
That sponsorship provides much more than tuition.
For $200 per year (about $18 per month), a donor helps provide:
✔ School tuition
✔ Books and educational materials
✔ Uniforms
✔ Two nutritious meals each day
✔ Access to medical care
Our partner schools carefully select students who are most in need and most deserving—children whose education would otherwise be out of reach.
And because all overhead expenses are funded separately, 100% of every tax-deductible donation goes directly to supporting that child.
Once you sponsor a child, you will hear directly from the school with updates on their progress and growth.
That connection matters.
The Future of Sponsorship
We continue to have more students in need than we have sponsors.
That is why we are always looking for more people willing to invest in a child’s future.
If you know friends or family who may be interested, please share this opportunity.
For now, our annual sponsorship remains $200 per year.
However, after holding this amount steady for 14 years, we plan to increase sponsorship to $250 per year beginning in 2027 to help address the realities of inflation and rising school costs. We appreciate your understanding as we work to sustain and strengthen this mission.
Construction Update
Thanks to generous support, we currently have two major construction projects underway—one at each school.
These projects continue expanding our ability to educate and support growing student populations.
In addition, we are fundraising for several important future projects:
Drilling a well for drinking water
Building faculty housing
Creating community medical clinics at both schools
These projects represent the next chapter of growth for both communities.
If you are interested in helping support any of these initiatives, we would love to hear from you.
Thank You
Whether through sponsorship, athletics, healthcare, or infrastructure, your support continues to create real and lasting change.
Every classroom built.
Every meal served.
Every child sponsored.
Every future changed.
Thank you for walking this journey with us.
